Trauma Therapy in Colorado

When the Past Continues to Impact the Present

Trauma can affect us long after a difficult experience has ended. You may find yourself feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed by emotions, disconnected from yourself or others, or struggling with patterns that don't seem to make sense. Even when you want to move forward, it can feel as though your mind and body are stuck in survival mode.

Trauma can result from a single event or from ongoing experiences over time. Whether your experiences are recent or happened years ago, their impact can continue to show up in your relationships, self-worth, emotions, physical health, and daily life.

You don't have to navigate it alone.

What Trauma Can Look Like

Trauma affects everyone differently. You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, panic, or constant worry

  • Difficulty trusting yourself or others

  • Feeling disconnected, numb, or emotionally overwhelmed

  • Intrusive thoughts or memories

  • Trouble sleeping or relaxing

  • Shame, guilt, or self-criticism

  • Difficulty feeling safe in your body

  • Challenges in relationships

  • A sense that you're simply surviving rather than living

Many people blame themselves for these struggles, when in reality they may be understandable responses to difficult experiences.

A Compassionate Approach to Trauma Healing

I help adults throughout Colorado heal from trauma and reconnect with themselves through a warm, supportive, and evidence-based approach. Therapy is not about forcing yourself to relive painful experiences or pushing through before you're ready.

Instead, we work together to build safety, increase self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and process experiences at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is to help you better understand your responses, reconnect with your strengths, and develop a greater sense of trust in yourself and your ability to navigate life.

How I Work

My approach integrates traditional talk therapy with EMDR and Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), recognizing that trauma affects both the mind and body.

Together, we may work on:

  • Understanding the impact of trauma on your nervous system

  • Processing traumatic memories through EMDR

  • Building emotional regulation skills

  • Increasing self-compassion and self-trust

  • Reconnecting with your body in a safe and supportive way

  • Developing a greater sense of safety and empowerment

Healing begins with creating safety and connection within yourself.
